DAP Sarawak cares for Sarawakians, temporarily suspends all political activities

Press Statement
8th October 2020

In light of the huge surge in Covid-19 cases for the third wave of the pandemic, DAP Sarawak shall suspend all political activities involving human contact with effect from 9-10-2020 till 18-10-2020.

Walkabouts in public places, public talks, and gatherings (be they small or large) will all be suspended till 18-10-2020 when new directives are issued by the Ministry of Health and the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee depending on the situation.

However, members of the public who need our service and have complaints to be dealt with are free to come to or call our service centres and DAP representatives in person or over the phone. Our service centres will remain open during normal office hours and our elected representatives and their assistants will continue to provide services to the public.

We hope our little effort will help to flatten the curve and ease the burden of medical staff and frontliners in their fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, we also take this opportunity to thank the frontliners for their selfless sacrifice in the fight. Let us work together to overcome the crisis.

Chong Chieng Jen
DAP Sarawak Chairman
MP for Stampin
