Announcement on Re-election of CEC members

DAP Central Executive Committee (2008) Meeting on 22 August 2013

The details of decisions made by the 2008 elected Central Executive Committee (CEC) today on 22 August 2013, for the purposes of the DAP National Special Congress for re-election of the CEC are as follows:

Date: 29 September 2013 (Sunday)

Venue: Klang Valley (exact venue to be confirmed)

Time: 8am registration

Candidates for the re-election

The candidates for the re-election of the Central Executive Committee shall be the same list as that used in the 2012 National Congress, less candidates who have voluntarily withdrawn from the contest.

This is because there is no controversy over the list of nominated candidates and the ROS has instructed only the re-election of the CEC.

Qualified delegates for the re-election

The same list of qualified delegates who took part in the 2012 National Congress shall become the delegates for the 2013 National Special Congress to re-elect the Central Executive Committee.

Hence 17 delegates who were suspended or expelled by the Party after the 2012 National Congress are now qualified to take part in the 2013 National Special Congress, should they choose to take part in the election.

Election Organising Committee

The Special Congress Steering Committee will be led by Sdr Anthony Loke Siew Fook.

The appointed Returning Officer for the election is Sdr Dr Ong Kian Ming.

Parliamentary Liaison Committee AGMs and State Ordinary Conventions

The original schedule of DAP parliamentary liaison committee AGM and state ordinary conventions to be held between August to December 2013 shall be postponed until a new date is fixed after the new Central Executive Committee is constituted.
