\u201cSojourners must understand that this by-election is more important than Teluk Intan\u2019s GE 13 outing,\u201d said V. Sivakumar, Batu Gajah MP.<\/p>\n

A win for Pakatan would be a disapproval of GST, and the arrogance of Barisan Nasional, he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way our government handled the MH370 incident is a testimony of how incapable the government is; and the people must send the right message to government by making sure of Barisan\u2019s defeat,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

According to him, there are many voters who had left Teluk Intan pursuing their careers who must understand the importance of this elections and return to give Pakatan the win they deserve.<\/p>\n

\u201cVoters must not ignore the seriousness of this by-elections,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted issues with Indians from Teluk Intan who he says have been misled by MIC. Quoting P. Waythamoorthy\u2019s failure to persuade Barisan to adhere to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), he said,<\/p>\n

\u201cWaythamoorthy\u2019s resignation as the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister\u2019s department is proof of the government\u2019s insincerity in announcing that they would help the Indians.\u201d<\/p>\n

He cited also the wild claims made by MIC in their media statement claiming that RM 560 million dollars had been spent on Tamil schools in the nation from 2009 to 2013.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to know how the RM 560 million was spent\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCan MIC account for the RM 560 million?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWho siphoned the money?!\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n

There is no reason for the Teluk Intan Indians to trust MIC even if with their door-to-door campaigning in the area, he concluded. -The Rocket<\/p>\n

Teluk Intan had lost MP Seah Leong Peng tragically on 1 May 2014 when he succumbed to liver cancer, leaving behind his seat to be contested again.
