\"\"<\/a>It is reported that the police has yesterday arrested a parent for allegedly threatening\u00a0SK Seri\u00a0Pristana school principal Mohd Nasir\u00a0Mohd Noor.\u00a0It is\u00a0also reported\u00a0that the parent, who had\u00a0lodged a\u00a0police report against the school principal and the school on July 30 for allegedly taking photographs of his 10 year olddaughter,\u00a0is expected to be charged with criminal intimidation.<\/p>\n

The arrest has angered many public who want to know when\u00a0unfairness and injustice willend.\u00a0The public are incensed that nothing has been done by either the Education Ministry or the Police especially on three issues.<\/p>\n

The first issue involves the threats made against the whistle blower Guneswari Kelly who exposed the\u00a0photographs\u00a0of the shower canteen controversy.\u00a0She had received kidnap threats and had lodged police report. So where is the police action?<\/p>\n

The second issue involves the bullying of her daughter.\u00a0It has been widely\u00a0reported\u00a0in\u00a0July\u00a0that\u00a0Guneswari\u2019s\u00a0daughter\u00a0was\u00a0being bullied by both classmates and teachers in SK Seri\u00a0Pristina.\u00a0Guneswari said that her nine-year-old daughter was depressed because she was being picked on at school.<\/wbr><\/p>\n

The daughter, who had become distraught and embarrassed by the finger pointing, was also being ostracized by her classmates. Even her attempt to win back friends by giving away pencil and highlighters had failed.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0inevitable\u00a0end result is that Guneswari decided to transfer her daughter to a new school\u00a0so as to end\u00a0the psychological cruelty and pain inflicted on her daughter.<\/p>\n

No action has been taken against the headmaster or teachers and the Education Minister continues to remain silent despite me having asked him if he is powerless, heartless or both over such plight faced by the whistle blower and her daughter.<\/p>\n

The third involves alleged intimidation by the school principal.<\/p>\n

On July 30, it was reported\u00a0that a\u00a0parent lodged a police report against the headmaster of SK Seri Pristina for taking photographs of pupils who allegedly reported him.\u00a0This is an act\u00a0of\u00a0bullying and intimidation which is unacceptable.<\/p>\n

Yet,\u00a0nothing\u00a0has\u00a0happened. The Education Ministry\u00a0has not done anything as if bullying and intimidation at school is a trivial issue.<\/p>\n

But since the parent has lodged a police\u00a0report,\u00a0the police should explain what has happened to his report?\u00a0If the police could act on the report lodged by the headmaster, surely the police must be able to explain what has been done on the parent\u2019s report?\u00a0Have reports lodged by\u00a0Guneswari\u00a0and the parent given NFA\u00a0(No\u00a0further\u00a0action)treatment?<\/wbr><\/p>\n

Let me remind the Education Minister that he can choose to remain silent over the issues at SK Seri\u00a0Pristana\u00a0but he can expect to be queried when Parliament meets.<\/p>\n

Besides asking him whether he is powerless or heartless or both over the SK Seri Pristana issues, I shall ask the Prime\u00a0Minister\u00a0who\u00a0has\u00a0the prerogative to appoint ministers whether a\u00a0minister who ignores acts of bullying and intimidation in schools is still fit to be the Education Minister?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
