\"\"<\/a>Pakatan Rakyat will train their focus down south in the 13th General Election in an attempt to wrestle 15 parliamentary seats from the UMNO stronghold state, says DAP Parliamentary Leader Lim Kit Siang.<\/p>\n

He named the parliamentary seats as the southern seats of Gelang Patah, Kulai, Pulai, Johor Bahru, Pasir Gudang, Tebrau, Tanjong Piai; as well as the northern seats of Bakri, Kluang, Segamat, Labis, Batu Pahat, Ledang, Muar, and Sembrong.<\/p>\n

Lim said PR aimed to end Johor\u2019s status as BN\u2019s \u2018deposit state\u2019 and to pave the way for PR rule in Putrajaya.<\/p>\n

He said that these 15 battlegrounds would become the \u201cfocus\u201d constituencies for PR to fight for the hearts and minds of Johor voters.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will be surprised if PR cannot make greater headway in Johor in the 13GE,<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the 2008 election, the 308 \u2018politcal tsunami\u2019 came from the north, starting from Penang and Kedah to sweep five states for PR.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am hopeful that in the 13th GE, a bigger \u201cpolitical tsunami\u201d will emanate from the south to radiate to all parts of \u00a0Malaysia and take the political change started in 2008 to even greater heights,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The winds of change are blowing from the south<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Lim said his visit to three parliamentary constituencies in south Johor in the past two days gave him confidence that the wind of change are \u201cblowing strong and hard\u201d from Johor.<\/p>\n

The two-day visit featured a glittering line-up of local and national party leaders together with the Ubah Dream Machine, drawing unprecedented crowds in their nightly ceramahs from Senai to Taman Sentosa.<\/p>\n

The veteran DAP leader said that Pakatan Rakyat would take up the challenge to test the \u201csignificant swing of support\u201d it is receiving in Johor.<\/p>\n

Lim said this swing was felt not only among the Chinese, but also Malays and Indians who are switching allegiance from BN to PR.<\/p>\n

\u201cAim for 10 in Johor\u201d
\nThe MP for Ipoh Timur admitted that PR could not be certain of winning all 15 seats. However, he expressed the hope that if the coalition could win 10 out of the 26 parliamentary seats in the state.<\/p>\n

Added to this, Lim said that if PR could capture at least a third of the Parliamentary seats in Sabah and Sarawak, they would be \u201cwell on the way\u201d to Putrajaya to form the next Federal Government of Malaysia. -The Rocket<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
