SG blocked it<\/li>\n<li>SYABAS is suing SG for RM 1.05 billion for the lost tariff revenue due to the tariff increase deferment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.therocket.com.my\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Box4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2752\" style=\"padding-left: 30px;\" title=\"Peter Chin\" src=\"http:\/\/www.therocket.com.my\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Box4-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.therocket.com.my\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Box4-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.therocket.com.my\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Box4-261x175.jpg 261w, https:\/\/www.therocket.com.my\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/Box4.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Federal Government Plans<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>FG wants to build Langat 2 water treatment plant at a cost of RM 8.65 billion to increase the treated water supply<\/li>\n<li>Water tariff rates for Selangor and KL users will increase if Langat 2 goes through as SYABAS will bear the cost of the project<\/li>\n<li>FG gave an interest-free and unsecured loan of RM 320 million to SYABAS in 2009<\/li>\n<li>FG is planning another RM 6.5 billion to take-over the concessionaires\u2019 debts (i.e. bail-out)<\/li>\n<li>SYABAS needs to replace 6000 km of pipes at a cost RM 2.33 billion in 2011. FG has rejected it (12 July 2012, The Star)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some Facts<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd (PNSB) owns 70% of SYABAS.
