Following a meeting on 9 February 2022, the Election Commission (SPR) has finally announced details regarding the 15th Johor State Election. For all eligible voters in Johor, here are the important dates that you should take note of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

Postal voting registration due date: 18 February 2022 (Friday)<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nomination day: 26 February 2022 (Saturday)<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Polling day: 12 March 2022 (Saturday)<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

For members of the Malaysian civil service that are eligible for early voting<\/strong> in this Johor State Election, it will be held on Tuesday, 8 March 2022. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, considering the state of Johor has one of the highest number of voters working or residing overseas, especially in Singapore, it is important for those eligible to urgently register for postal voting so that you can exercise your right as a Malaysian citizen. SPR has opened postal voting registration for those residing overseas under the 1B Category since yesterday (9 February 2022) up until next Friday (18 February 2022). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are all the steps you need to do to register as a postal voter:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

1. Visit the SPR website and login to your MySPR account<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Visit the official SPR website at http:\/\/myspr.spr.gov.my<\/a> and fill in your login details to access your MySPR account. If you haven\u2019t created a MySPR account, you can do so by clicking the \u2018PERMOHONAN AKAUN BAHARU<\/strong>\u2019 (New account application) option at the very bottom of the page, or click here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

For those that haven\u2019t registered for an MySPR account, you have to fill in all the necessary details as well as upload a photo of your IC as requested by SPR. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

2. Register as a postal voter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Once logged in, search for the \u2018Undi Pos\u2019 (Postal vote) menu and select the \u2019Permohonan\u2019 (Application) submenu as per below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

In the following page, choose the \u2019Pengundi Luar Negara\u2019 (Voters currently residing overseas) as per below: <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

Fill in your passport number as well as the reason for your current residence overseas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

In the subsequent options, fill in your mail address overseas for you to receive your postal voting papers from SPR as per below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

In the next page, make sure that all your voting details are correct before ticking on the agreement and submitting your application by clicking on the \u2019Hantar\u2019 (Submit) button at the bottom of the page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

Once you click submit, you will be prompted with a notification to confirm your submission, in which you have to fill in your IC number and MySPR password. You then have to request for a TAC to be sent to your registered mobile phone number to proceed by clicking on the \u2019Mohon TAC\u2019 (Request TAC) button at the bottom right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

Fill in the TAC number sent to your registered mobile phone number and press \u2019Hantar\u2019 (Send). <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

You will then receive a notification from the MySPR website saying that your application is currently being processed. Furthermore, a confirmation e-mail will also be sent to your registered e-mail account by SPR. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

3. Things to note after registering as a postal voter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

After submitting your application, you may check on your registration status by logging in to the MySPR website from time to time. SPR will also be sending an e-mail notifying whether your application as a postal voter is successful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your registration is successfully accepted by SPR, postal voting papers will be sent to the mail address that you\u2019ve submitted during the application process after the nomination day on 26 February 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may then vote for your preferred nominee in private and put the voting paper in Sampul A (Envelope A). Furthermore, you must also fill in the Borang 2 (Form 2) that came with the postal voting papers and put it inside of Sampul B (Envelope B). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, urgently send the package containing both envelopes to the address written on the postal voting papers that you received. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s it! Pretty simple right? Let\u2019s together exercise our right to vote during this Johor State Election so that your voice would not be left unheard in determining the future of the state as well as the nation as a whole. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n
