The floods last weekend caused much devastation, with Pahang and Selangor the hardest hit. Knowing that the people desperately needed help, DAP reps wasted no time in reaching out to those affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Pahang, Wong Tack who is MP for Bentong sent out boats to aid with the rescue operation. Facing difficulty in finding food providers as they too were also affected, he contacted volunteers in Kuala Lumpur to send food aid to Bentong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, he himself also contributed essentials ranging from diapers to milk powder, food, and many other necessities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile in Selangor, ADUN for Kota Kemuning Ganabatirau Veraman has been on an urgent mission to rescue stranded residents. Taman Sri Muda, which happens to be located in his constituency, is one of the worst hit in the state with many still waiting for help to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Desperate to save those who are trapped, he bought more boats. Not wanting people to go hungry, he sent out food and water. He also set up tents for victims and gave them food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ADUN for Balakong Wong Siew Ki did her part too. She sent out a team to distribute food and drinks in Klang while another team monitored the situation in Balakong. Not just that, Siew Ki was also there for residents who needed help with cleaning up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for ADUN for Kinrara Ng Sze Han, he quickly mobilised volunteers who worked hard to prepare food in Dapur Kinrara for distribution to flood victims. Furthermore, he also extended help to charities that may be in need of food supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On top of that, DAP Kinrara sent basic necessities to those seeking shelter at temporary relief centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Negeri Sembilan, ADUN for Nilai Arul Kumar has been keeping busy with flood relief efforts as well. He went round visiting houses and shops affected by the floods and gave financial aid to victims. Additionally, he also donated basic necessities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over in Sarawak, state elections may have just ended but serving the people never stops. Just before flying to Kuala Lumpur yesterday for the Parliament sitting, Chong Chieng Jen who is both MP for Stampin and ADUN for Padungan visited flood victims in Batu Kawa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Altogether, there are 26 families whose roofs suffered damage as a result of the storm on Sunday evening. Chong will be setting aside funds from his MP allocation to help them with roof repairs and new furniture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
