DAP Political Education Director, Liew Chin Tong has recently stressed the importance for Pakatan Harapan (PH) to retain both the Gadek and Bemban State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats in the Melaka State Election this Saturday (20 November 2021) in order to repeat its success in the historic General Election in 2018. Furthermore, he added that should PH win both seats, then the coalition will be in the driving seat to form the state government again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chin Tong, who is also the DAP Johor chairman added that both Gadek and Bemban are rural seats that are previously considered to be the traditional \u2018stronghold\u2019 of Barisan Nasional (BN) in Melaka. However, PH were able to muscle the constituencies away from BN in GE14 as well as win 15 out of the 28 total Melaka DUN seats to form the state government.\u00a0During that time, PH won the seat of Bemban with 45% of the vote and Gadek with 41% of the vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chin Tong stressed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n

This time around, however, the situation is a bit more complicated, particularly in Bemban which sees a 5-corner fight for the DUN seat. Hence, Chin Tong urged for Bemban voters to choose the best candidate, which is undoubtedly PH\u2019s Tey Kok Kiew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kok Kew, who is also DAP Melaka chairman has an excellent and clean record as ADUN with many praising his performance and contribution for the rakyat of Melaka. Furthermore, his willingness to contest in a marginal seat such as Bemban this time around shows great leadership and courage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chin Tong then stressed that a win for Tey Kok Kiew would ensure\u00a0the return of PH as the Melaka State Government with the charismatic Adly Zahari as Chief Minister. The DAP Johor chairman stressed,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n
