Subsequently, the state will also be receiving an additional 500,000 doses of the same vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to Sarawak, Selangor employers are now allowed to purchase immunisation jabs for their workers via the Selangkah app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lim Lip Eng, Member of Parliament for Kepong, cited these two states as examples of how the federal government under Muhyiddin should welcome the participation of all stakeholders to fight Covid-19 together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also urged Annuar Musa, the Federal Territories Minister, to heed Putrajaya\u2019s green light in this regard and utilise the bank interest gained from funds in fixed deposit bank accounts held by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to purchase vaccines for KL residents, especially for frontliners working round the clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stating that money isn\u2019t an issue to DBKL as these bank accounts in question hold billions of Ringgit, Lim said that there was no reason why Annuar wouldn\u2019t want to follow in Sarawak\u2019s and Selangor\u2019s footsteps to save the lives of Kuala Lumpur residents from the virus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Next week, Sarawak will be receiving 500,000 doses of the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine&nbsp;directly procured by the state government.
