Out of this,\u00a0around 46% or\u00a0RM25.9 billion is interstate\u00a0spending (allocated to federal government agencies nationwide such as the army, police, hospitals).\u00a0The balance of RM30.1 billion\u00a0are state-specific\u00a0development\u00a0allocations\u00a0which\u00a0can be broken down to\u00a0states.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sabah and Sarawak\u2019s\u00a0state-specific development allocations\u00a0in Budget 2020\u00a0total up to RM9.6 billion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n&nbsp;\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">RM9.6 billion\u00a0is in fact 31%\u00a0of RM30.1 billion.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n&nbsp;\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Budget 2021<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n&nbsp;\n\n\n\n<p>We are of the view that the\u00a0state-specific\u00a0development allocation for Sabah and Sarawak in Budget 2021 should\u00a0retain\u00a0the ratio\u00a0of\u00a0approximately 30%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n&nbsp;\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>RM13 billion Increase in 2021 Development Expenditure\u00a0(D.E.)\u00a0Allocation\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n&nbsp;\n\n\n\n<p>For Budget 2021, the total\u00a0D.E.\u00a0has been increased substantially to RM69\u00a0billion from Budget 2020\u2019s RM56 billion. Sarawak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Without this Amendment Motion, the Minister\u00a0for\u00a0Sabah and Sarawak Affair\u00a0under the Prime Minister\u2019s Department\u00a0will only be a lame duck ministry with zero D.E.\u00a0allocation. \u00a0It is thus pertinent that this important portfolio in Cabinet\u00a0must be allocated sufficient D.E.\u00a0allocation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, we&nbsp;call upon the&nbsp;all&nbsp;MPs from Sabah and Sarawak to support the amendment motion by Chong and not be shackled down by the federal government of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CHONG CHIENG JEN &amp;
