But with the second version of the Amendment Bill, that Sarawak-born person\u2019s children can be elected as Sarawak ADUN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this second version, one clear effect is, the step-children of our Governor are now clearly eligible to be elected as an ADUN of Sarawak. &nbsp;That is not what we Sarawakians want. As such both DAP and PSB ADUNs objected to the Bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I proposed that the qualifying words be \u201cSarawakian\u201d but my proposal was rejected by GPS ADUNs. \u00a0The GPS ADUNs do not want the word \u201cSarawakian\u201d to appear in the State Constitution and they do not want the term \u201cSarawakian\u201d to be the qualifying criteria for the eligibility to be elected as Sarawak ADUNs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside DUN, the SUPP Chairman claims that with the new amendment, only \u201cSarawakians\u201d can be elected as Sarawak ADUN. \u00a0That is not true. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SUPP and GPS should be truthful and frank to Sarawakians. \u00a0They are the ones rejecting the use of the word \u201cSarawakian\u201d as the eligible candidates of Sarawak DUNs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Chong Chieng Jen<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>DAP Sarawak Chairman<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Constitution Amendment Bill to the Sarawak Constitution tabled by the GPS Government does not have the word \u201cSarawakian\u201d in it. \u00a0It is a bold lie told by SUPP that after the said amendment, only Sarawakians are eligible to be elected as an ADUN.
