Penang Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow announced half-month salary or a minimum of RM1,000 in special financial aid for its 4,009 civil servants in appreciation of their services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his speech on Penang\u2019s 2021 Budget, he said that this special aid would be rolled out in December and would cost Penang RM5.5 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCivil servants are the backbone to all of the state’s planning, policy implementation,\u00a0and development. It is hoped that the special financial aid will serve as a boost for the civil servants to continue to give their best.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Chow also conveyed the state\u2019s appreciation and gratitude to the Penang Health Department, the National Security Council (MKN), and all security forces such as the police, armed forces, the Fire and Rescue Department, the Civil Defence Force, and RELA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlso thank you to all Federal Government civil servants for their sacrifice as frontliners, their services and support in curbing the spread of Covid-19 and for ensuring stability, peace,\u00a0and public order.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chow also said that the Penang government will be channeling RM300 to 1,587 KAFA supervisors and teachers, 343 religious primary school teachers, 263 religious secondary school teachers, as well as 590 teachers and staff of Chinese private schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Chow announced that payments of RM200 each would be given to 320 Tahfiz teachers, Pondok teachers, and Islamic kindergarten teachers (TADIS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
