{"id":15153,"date":"2020-07-28T17:47:06","date_gmt":"2020-07-28T09:47:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.therocket.com.my\/en\/?p=15153"},"modified":"2020-07-28T18:13:07","modified_gmt":"2020-07-28T10:13:07","slug":"src-international-trial-verdict-a-victory-for-the-rakyat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.therocket.com.my\/en\/src-international-trial-verdict-a-victory-for-the-rakyat\/","title":{"rendered":"SRC International trial verdict a victory for the rakyat"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Press Statement by Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council on 28 July 2020. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"607\" src=\"https:\/\/www.therocket.com.my\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/guiltybro.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15164\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council takes note of the Kuala Lumpur High Court\u2019s verdict which found Dato\u2019 Sri Najib Razak guilty of seven charges including criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and money laundering of funds amounting to RM42 million belonging to SRC International Sdn Bhd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This verdict is a tremendous victory for all Malaysians. The judicial process would not have started if the rakyat didn\u2019t rise up and pave the way for Pakatan Harapan&#8217;s victory against Barisan Nasional in GE14. In fact, if we were to examine the history of this issue, the gross mismanagement of 1MDB was first brought up in Parliament by YB DS Anwar Ibrahim in 2011. The Presidential Council would like to thank all the parties involved in this process, including former Attorney General who started the legal proceedings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.therocket.com.my\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/DAP-270720-10.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15159\" width=\"550\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Presidential Council invites all Malaysians to read and examine thoroughly the judgement that was made today.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are of the opinion that a thorough institutional reform is needed to ensure that the political climate that allowed for such substantial damage during the Barisan Nasional administration to not repeat again.
