The DAP has lost trust and confidence in Hadi as a Pakatan Rakyat leader and will end ties and cease to work with him,\u201d Lim said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cAs Hadi is the PAS leader in PR, DAP&#8217;s decision to end all ties with Hadi will effectively put the Majlis Pimpinan or the Pakatan Rakyat Leadership Council in limbo. DAP will meet the PKR leadership to discuss the future course of Pakatan Rakyat,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Lim cited various \u2018betrayals\u2019 by Hadi in the pact which the three parties \u2014 DAP, PAS, and PKR \u2014 formed in 2007. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cDAP deplores the dishonest and dishonourable acts of Hadi, such as his betrayal of the collective decision made by the Majlis Pimpinan Pakatan Rakyat on the nomination of Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as Pakatan\u2019s sole candidate for the position of Menteri Besar of Selangor, which resulted in a full blown and protracted crisis that threatened to bring down the Pakatan\u2019s Selangor Government. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cHadi also failed to honour his own words during the Majlis Pimpinan PR on 8 February 2015 that the Enakmen Kanun Jenayah Syariah II Kelantan 2015 would be discussed at future Majlis Pimpinan Pakatan Rakyat meetings, and his submission of the Private Member\u2019s Bill without presenting it to the PAS Central Committee and Majlis Pimpinan Pakatan Rakyat,\u201d Lim said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">However, the Bagan MP reaffirmed the party\u2019s commitment to Pakatan, but stated that Pakatan parties must adhere to the spirit of the Common Policy Framework centred on trust and mutual respect.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When reached for comment, a source close to PAS told The Rocket that the DAP\u2019s move to sever ties with Hadi is \u201cthe only possible choice.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWhat other choice have they got? They have to send a message. I feel that the DAP has restrained themselves from creating the worst case scenario, which is the break-up of Pakatan, and that would trigger a cascade of turmoil,\u201d the source said. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The source added that within PAS, the ulama, or conservative, faction would use DAP\u2019s punitive action against the president to paint the president as the victim of DAP and as a hero for championing hudud in the upcoming party elections in June.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">However, where the future of continued PAS-DAP cooperation lies is in the fence-sitters within PAS. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe DAP must convince the fence-sitters of the reasons behind their move. It is very important for reason and sanity to prevail, and to not be emotive about it. DAP has a very important point to make and the argument should be that this is all in the interests of Pakatan, which is the nation\u2019s best bet of ending BN\u2019s rule, and that it cannot be sacrificed or jeopardised by one person (Hadi),\u201d the source said. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI am hoping that if anything positive is to come out of this move, is that Hadi would take stock of his relationship with his partners and friends in PR,\u201d the source added.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The DAP has cut all ties with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, and will cease to work with the latter over his insistence on pushing for hudud despite coalition consensus.
