DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang has initiated\u00a0legal action against a pro-Umno blogger for\u00a0defamation.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0DAP Parliamentary leader in a statement today said he instructed his lawyers to begin criminal and civil proceedings against UMNO blogger Syed Akhbar Ali for a defamatory tweet insinuating that Lim is a communist, and a ‘racialist’\u00a0who is anti-Malay. The blogger also allegedly accused Lim of causing the May 13 race riots.<\/p>\n

\u201cSyed Akhbar’s tweet carried a graphic of me in the garb of Mao Tse Tung, alleging that I am \u201cBapa 13 Mei\u201d, and accusing me of having caused the May 13 race riots in 1969 because of my anti-Malay statements and slogans, with a caption \u201c\u2019MELAYU KELUAR! APA LAGI DUDUK SINI, KITA HENTAM LU, SEKARANG KITA SUDAH ADA KUASA\u201d LIM KIT SIANG (BAPA 13 MEI).<\/p>\n

Lim added that the tweet alleged he had made the following statements in the following places and dates:
\n1. Menggunakan slogan \u201cMalai-Si\u201d bermaksud \u201cMati Melayu\u201d. (Using the slogan \u201cMalai-Si, meaning die Malay\u201d)<\/p>\n

2. \u201cApa polis boleh buat, kita Raja. Buang sama polis Melayu.\u201d (What can the police do, we are kings. Dispose of the Malay police)
\n– (11 Mei 69, Bukit Bintang)<\/p>\n

3. \u201cMati Melayu, sakai pergi masuk hutan\u201d. (Die Malay, sakai go back to the jungle)
\n– (11 Mei 69, Jalan Bukit Bintang).<\/p>\n

4. \u201cKL sekarang cina punya\u201d. (KL now belongs to the Chinese)
\n– (11 Mei 69, Jalan Changkat Dollah)<\/p>\n

5. \u201cMelayu balik kampung, melayu sekarang tiada kuasa. Sekarang kita Cina sudah control.\u201d (Go back to the village Malays, Malays have no power now. The Chinese are in control now)
\n– (12 Mei 69, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman)<\/p>\n

6. \u201cMelayu keluar…! Apa lagi duduk sini, kita hentam lu, sekarang kita sudah ada kuasa…\u201d (Get out Malays..! Why do you stay here, we will bash you, now that we already have power)

7. \u201c…semua Melayu kasi habis, kasi halau semua polis.\u201d (finish the Malays, chase away all the police)

8. \u201cApa ini Melayu, kita sudah perintah dia negeri, ini negeri bukan melayu punya, mata-mata lancau…!\u201d (Whats with these Malays, we now rule the state, it no longer belongs to Malays, police are lancau \u2013derogatory term for private part)

9. \u201cButuh Melayu, Malai si, pergi mati Melayu…\u201d (Penis Malay, Malay die, go and die Malay)
\n– (12 Mi 69, Jalan Canvel).<\/p>\n

10. \u201cIni negeri bukan Melayu punya, kita mahu kasi halau semua Melayu\u201d (this state does not belong to Malays, we want to chase off all the Malays)
\n– (12 Mei 69, Jalan Bukit Bintang).<\/p>\n

Calling them \u201cdastardly lies\u201d, Lim\u00a0added that there were words from the tweets which he has never used in his life. He also clarified as he has done before that he was not in Kuala Lumpur from May 11 to May 13 1969 \u2013 and that the police Special Branch can vouch for him using their records.<\/p>\n

He called on moderate Malaysians to refrain from extremism and to have zero tolerance for the \u201cpolitics of lies and hate”.<\/p>\n
