In the conclusion to the decade-long trial for the murder of Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu’s murder, questions are being asked as to why the faces of the killers have been hidden from public view.<\/p>\n

Malaysiakini reported Facebook users expressing their discontentment with the out-of-the-norm police procedure that allowed that two to cover their faces.<\/p>\n

\u201cShow us their faces. I’m sure the public would gladly help you and locate them,\u201d said Facebook user Jason Tan.<\/p>\n

Another Facebook user Stephen Matthews said, \u201cLet\u2019s see their faces. Since he is now a condemned murderer and a wanted man, why hide their faces? Unless of course they are helping the country with national security issues like Paul Puah.\u201d<\/p>\n

On January 13 the Federal Court delivered\u00a0the death sentence to Sirul Azhar Umar and chief inspector Azilah Hadri for killing Altantuya and blowing up her body.<\/p>\n

Until yesterday, the public did not know the faces of the duo, as they were concealed since the beginning of court proceedings in the murder case.<\/p>\n

Segambut Mp Lim Lip Eng in a statement\u00a0today echoed netizens’ sentiments.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Inspector General of the Police Khalid A\u00a0and the authorities must explain why the wrongdoers are given preferential treatment, hiding their true identities from the public and the media.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is the reason for hiding the faces of both the killers everytime they appeared in court until found guilty.\u201d<\/p>\n
