Penang CM: Covid-19 spurs digitalisation

The current Covid-19 crisis has indirectly paved the way for people who are impacted by the pandemic to adopt digital technology.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said that people are getting used to using digital technology.

He said that digital technology had helped the people to cope with the crisis during the tough period.

“I have stated several times that digitalisation provides an opportunity for us to work on things differently.

“In fact, the state has promoted digitalisation through the setting up of Digital Penang, an agency to assist the state in terms of technology.

“However, there is still room for improvement.

“We deeply appreciate Arup Jururunding Sdn Bhd’s invitation to us. We came to listen to their views and suggestions to make Penang a better place.

“We look forward to any collaboration on initiatives and projects,” he told Buletin Mutiara after attending a two-hour virtual discussion at the Arup’s office in Gurney Paragon Mall.
