Flood victims suffer from lack of proper food

Flood Relief (Dec 29 2014) MP KlangKelantan flood victims are suffering without proper food available to them, reports say.

According to Malaysiakini, flood evacuees deprived of adequate food were forced to make do with biscuits and even soaked instant noodles in rain water.

“There are instant noodles, but no electricity to cook water and the stove is not working.

“Out of hunger, I was forced to collect rain water with my bare hands and pour them into the instant noodle cup,” said Annual Bakri Harun, a former political secretary to ex-Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.

Annual, whose house was flooded for the last five days said that he had to share food with his cat, chicken, and bird due to the slow transportation of aid.

The number of flood victims have now reached 225,730.

DAP launched a “Flood Relief Fund” to help flood victims in the East Coast and other affected states.

All donations collected will be deposited into a special account: “Tabung Dana Kecemasan” (Ambank 8881002244649). Those who wish to make online donations can do so through this account as well.

For those who wish to drop off food and necessities can do so at the DAP Selangor Headquarters (PJ), Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Baru Balakong (Seri Kembangan), Pusat Khidmat Kinrara (Puchong), or Pusat Khidmat Ahli Parlimen Klang (Klang). -The Rocket
