Our hearts go out to the families of the departed in MH17

mh17DAP will observe the National Day of Mourning on 22 August 2014 for the victims who perished in the MH17 tragedy. DAP Secretary General Lim Guan Eng has directed all flags at all party premises throughout the country to be flown at half-mast on Friday.

The Secretary General of the DAP Lim Guan Eng said that the Penang State Government will be holding the mourning session at the same time as the Federal Government as the arrival ceremony of the 20 of the 48  Malaysians lost in the crash on 22 August would be broadcast live from a screen at the Komtar building.

He had asked all functions held in the state to be preceded by a minutes silence for the deceased of the MH17 crash.

“We hope that they are blessed with the strength to pull through this time of grieving,” Lim Guan Eng sends his condolences to the family members of the passengers and staff of MH17.

DAP National Organizing Secretary and MP for Seremban Loke Siew Fook said that the DAP headquarters in Jalan Yew will observe a a minute of silence at the time set by the Committee of the National Day of Mourning.

“All DAP members are advised to observe the moment of silence at their respective areas.”

He informed that a DAP Members of Parliament delegation led by Parliamentary Leader Lim Kit Siang will attend the National Day of Mourning ceremony at the Bunga Raya Complex, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to pay their last respects to the victims of the fateful tragedy.-The Rocket
